Imagine
Limited christmas press 2010, in memory of John Lennon.
On October 9th 1940, John Lennon was born in Liverpool. On the 8th of December 1980, he was shot in front of his apartment in New York City. We pay tribute to his 70th birthday and 30th obit with a very special christmas press. No trees, no reindeers, but a huge tab inspired by the Strawberry Fields Memorial. The mosaic in this area in Central Park was created by italian mosaic artists in cooperation with Yoko Ono. Our press shows a stylised version of the design - with a peace sign on one side and the word "Imagine" on the other.
Our christmas press comes with a white handle plus gold-coloured wooden bead and is strictly limited to 40 pieces worldwide. One for each year of John Lennon's life.
Due to the size of the tab (4 cm, ca. 1.6 inch) I would not recommend using the press with a single fuel torch. It is possible to work without a kiln, but it requires some practice.
Dimensions (HxWxD):
Tab: 40x40x13 mm (thickness without decoration: 10 mm)
Overall size (without handle): 50x50x24 mm
Cavity for mandrel: 3 mm for mandrels up to 2,5 mm
55 Euro
"I think of John every day. I do try to block it, but December 8th is not the only day I think of him." (Yoko Ono)
"I feel that if I said anything about John, I would have to sit here for five days and say it all. Or I don't want to say anything." (Paul McCartney)
"Imagine all the people living life in peace! You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one." (John Lennon, Imagine)
